Where did he live or die?
I don’t know the city where  he was born or died. I entered all the information above. The state that he was born is South Carolina.

All of his children stayed and raised their families in South Carolina and later moved to Utah.

Obituaries are a relatively recent innovation. In the 19th century local newspapers would publish death notices. These would rarely contain much information beyond name and age. The practice of naming the family members and survivors of the deceased didn't come along until later. Also, prior to 1860 in the US most places in the South didn't have newspapers (nearly half of white Southerners were illiterate in 1860). You'd find newspapers in cities, but possibly not in smaller towns.
