Did Jackie Kennedy Have Fake Ancestry?

I recently read an article that mentioned how the Bouvier family in which Jackie Kennedy grew up, having acquired wealth, also sought to acquire upper crust respectability, and one of the attempts at doing so was to acquire fake ancestry that included European nobility.

Does anyone know what this involved?  Is the fake ancestry known and reported somewhere?  (It doesn't appear to be on WikiTree!)  It would be good to have a record of it posted at least on a free-space profile to help people keep the true separated from the fake!

If you look up fake ancestry of her you will find that her grandfather who was a banker often commented the Bouvier was a well known line, which it is.  But I am not sure that there is more to it then that.
Her  Last Name at Birth was Onassis?
Bouvier.  WikiTree sometimes refers to women by their "Current Last Name" (or "Last Name at Death") which would be Onassis.  This is very confusing and I wish they wouldn't do it, or at least put the LNAB in parenthesis!

There should be reliable information in Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis by Stephen Birmingham (NY, 1978) and The Bouviers: Portrait of an American Family by John H. Davies (NY, 1969).

I'm unaware of fake ancestry for her family, but there's always that possibility.

Her grandfather wrote something called "our forebears" that's basically a work of fiction: https://puu.sh/IQfK8/2785b56fee.png

I remember within the last few years reading about an Irish (great?) grandmother that they tried to hide? EDIT- Found something about her supposed Irish ancestry: Jackie O was more Irish than JFK but was ashamed of her family’s links to Ireland

The profile for her great, great grandfather Michael Charles Bouvier - https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bouvier-80 - describes the "false" genealogy.
