DNA TESTING DATA KNOWN BUT NOT DOWNLOADABLE (tested person dead)

I have an identical  Y DNA match, that ties my line of Pool to another.  This match ( a long time correspondent)  died several years ago,    I am aware of his DNA test results (identical with mine) -- but I  do not have authority to formally download his DNA test results from familytreedna  to wiki tree ---  this is a line where the near term ancestry is not known, but the deeper ancestry is  known (because common grandfather is 98% within  the time frame of my known ancestors)...I have notified the profile owner of the genetic testing --

-is there anything additional I can do so that researchers will know that this Pool-382   (Wm T Pool, born 1805 KY) line is a  proven by DNA  to be related to other lines (should help to determine the immediate ancestors)

Hi William, Welcome to WikiTree!

For a start, you should enter information about the yDNA test you took on your WikiTree profile. (You don't actually upload test results to WikiTree, just the fact of the test.) At the top of your profile page, use the 'Add' drop-down list to find 'DNA Test information' and enter your test information there. You will also need to change the privacy level of your profile to 'Private with Public Family Tree' so that others can see how your yDNA test applies to your paternal ancestors. After you make the change it will take up to 24 hours before the information will show up on your father's, grandfather's, etc. profiles.

On the William Thomas Poole-382 profile, in the biography section, you can write an explanation of how the yDNA tests 'prove' the line.
