Why do I get a meesage saying I am not on the trusted list of Smith-1?

Question

I am trying to add a (non-living) spouse to Croll-651 but when I try to save the spouse's profile I get a message saying I am not on the trusted list of Smith-1. The spouse's name is Shirley Yvonne Nish. There is no visible profile for her on WikiTree.

Could someone explain this situation?

It's a mystery to me.  Can you create the profile for Shirley (not as the spouse), then try it again?

I ended up creating the profile for Shirley Yvonne Nish while trying to see if I could duplicate the Smith-1 message. 

It went through straight away using the [add/edit] spouse option. 

I have orphaned the profile so you can adopt it and add whatever else information you have.

The problem continues.  It is now 24 September 2022 and I have the same message about Smith-I.  I was trying to add a child to the family of Henry Thomas and Julian (Floyd) Davis in Jackson County, Indiana.

Apparently at least 3 people have had that problem with Smith-1, see the bottom of the profile.

However, they all must have resolved without adding to G2G, as a search doesn't find any related questions.  If you find your solution, please post here.  I like Julie's reply- it's what I would suggest for stuck software...

For somebody whose head is made out of flowers, Smith-1 seems to be causing a lot of trouble. Robin, it might help to draw attention to this if you would like to edit your question and add "bugs" in the Surnames/Tags field.

Weird. Smith-1 is a test profile so it's possible there is some error that isn't getting caught so it's defaulting to Smith-1. It's hard to tell what exactly was going wrong without knowing the exact steps you were taking to add the profile and what data was entered.
