One uncle died and the second one has the same name

Question

I had two uncles that had the same name.  The first one died; unfortunately.  They named the second one with the first one's name, Charles Annandale Barnes.  How can I add the first one to to the tree; when the other one is on there with his picture?

You can add same name siblings, so long as you have the sources to back it up that they are not the same person.
The dates of birth and death being different will give them separate profiles.

You can also contact the profile manager to discuss the issue and hopefully resolve the problem with the photo.

Catherine, it was not unusual for two children to have the same name. Often it was because the first son was named after his father, but died, and so the next born son was given the same name. As long as you document the dates, you should be fine.

FWIW, I have Barnes in my paternal tree so checked to see if we might be related. We are, by marriage, but the connection is through my maternal great grandmother.
