Katrine Carlson was born on June 22, 1866 in Denmark. She married Peter Jensen on May 09, 1883. She died on April 30, 1944 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, United States. We need collaboration finding her in the 1930 census and also understanding her occupation listed in old terminology.

Tragically her daughter a “dancer”  Leone Ingaborg Jensen (1896 - 1928) passed after leaping off the San Carlos Hotel in Phoenix Arizona in 1928 to what now is becoming ghost story hunters fascination.

Thank you

Edit: found 1930 census. She is mentioned as widowed but in 1920 census listed as divorced.

The 1900 census shows she has 10 children!
We confirmed 9 of her children unable to locate the 10th yet
I believe we found her 1880 census see post on her profile just need to confirm with collaboration. Name and location seem to be a match?
Andrew, you're doing an AMAZING job fleshing out her family; you should post a message to that blog letting the author know you took her work and went even further. This is amazing!
That page helped but mostly familysearch and newspapers lol but definitely!
Yes, you went MUCH farther.
That page is probably one of the best out there for researching her an amazing job they did !

I love my Danish roots so when I saw she was Danish I really was curious then she’s from Minnesota. My Nissens are from Minnesota too laugh

I’d love to know more about her relationship with this Bellhop. He seems to be the key but also mentions her ill health as Leona’s reasoning. Still a mystery how and what happened when she took the fall.
I don't think either of her suicide notes make reference to a bellhop. That blog pretty much disspelled all that, right?

See source from news clip Here. Apparently the letters she wrote mentions the bellhop?

Another interesting story more modern of the folklore and ghost stories that came of the tragedy see Here

If you read the marriage record it say she is born in Karlebo, same in 1890 census - and must be the Thrine Marthe Carlsen born 23 Jun 1866 - Karlebo, Lynge-Kronborg, Frederiksborg, Danmark 1866 no. 22 Birth record Parents Carl Olsen and Ane Kirstine Knudsdatter

Thank you. A big help yes

I  am curious why I’m some sources she lists maiden name as Olson others as Carlson?

The 1890 census I can read some of the language but the barrier in translation is difficult. Does it list occupation or any other pertinent info for her? I do see the place of birth. smiley

The 1890 census  original source has her as "husmoder" housewife.

Ahh ok that is what death record also said! Love the translation. Thank you!
Regarding Olsen/Carlsen

In 1866 naming was a transition period in Denmark. Her father¨s last name was Olsen, so according to the new standards, she would be called Olsen too. But according to tradition, her last name should be Carlsdatter (Carlsdaughter): But that was old fashioned, so in the confusion, she was called Carlsen at her baptism (Carls son) instead. Have a look at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Project_Denmark_Discussion_Draft_for_Danish_Names and please change her LNAB to Carlsen as in her birth record :-)

Oh I see! Ok that’s a great explanation. Will update LNAB laugh

Added parental lineage will be challenging now we’ve crossed the pond to Denmark!

It's not very lengthy and doesn't have much information, but here is her death announcement from The Los Angeles Times:
