Help!  I have never heard of this rank and my search comes p with nothing.  WWI medical personel assigned the Hospital 18 (France?)

Rank listed on transport manifest is

FAR. V. C.

He was a farrier serving the veterinary Hospital 18. See the image  of the United States, Veterans Administration Master Index. A farrier cared for the shoes and hooves of the horses.
