This month’s Bio Builders Challenge theme is People born on Christmas (December 25). Everyone have fun.

Thank you for your support.

Here's our checklist:

Data Section:

  • birth date/place
  • names of parents
  • marriage date/place and spouse name
  • names of children, if any
  • death date/place

Biography Section:

  • Written (full) sentences stating the facts above, adding inline sources to each fact.
  • Is the profile '''Genealogically Defined?'''
  • As a general rule biographies should be in your own words. Paraphrase and rewrite, don't copy/paste.
  • Baptism, burial, military, and other life events with inline sources.
  • Something to "humanize" the person, such as career or avocation with sources.
  • List of children with at least one pertinent fact.
  • Some list siblings. (I think this takes up real estate.)
  • Explanatory remarks, if needed (e.g. disputed persons information, Research Notes, whatever needs extra explaining).
  • Photos or pictures, background. Not a must, but nice (you need to own the copyright unless they are in the public domain).
  • Categories.
  • Connection to the Global Tree.
  • All duplicates merged or initiated.
  • Links to persons and events, perhaps from Wikipedia.
  • Historical context as related to the person's life.
  • Sources, Sources, Sources.

You can see some ideas on where to find some of this information on the Biography Builders space page.

Use "comments" below to ask questions.

NOTE: Biography Builders will not show on the tracker. Please add a list to your answer.

P.S. Suggestions for future themes are always welcome, especially if they tie into, or help, a WikiTree Project.

I only have a few actually born on Christmas. May I also include people who were married or died on Christmas?
In the spirit of the season, yes. Don’t forget to answer.
Thank you ;) I already did
Is there a way to search the whole database for people born on the 25th December? I only have 3 in my own family that are about as complete as they can be

I have improved the profile of Wanda Georgena Burns born Christmas Day 1926 as much as possible. She was born after the 1921 Canada Census, birth, marriage and death records and later census records are not yet available.

Hi all, I'm not ready to get into the biobuilders project just now but I do have a profile, for anyone who cares to, look at and carry on. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Demry-5 Born 25 Dec 1920. (Mother of brother-in-law (living)). I have put in the basic information and sources, but still need to add a little, 2nd husband, etc.

    Thanks

edit: my brother-in-law is the one still living, just to clarify. I'm STILL trying to figure out how to put a direct link to click on into a message like this one.

    edit 2: I think I got it.

I don't think we can count the profiles of living people since they are usually private - at least that's what I've been told previously. I tried to look at your link, but it is giving me an error.
To get the link, just copy and paste it from your browser's address bar - but it looks like your link is working now the way you have it
    Hi Luther

If you look at the tool bar you will see a link 7th from the right, click this it open a window out the URL in the bottom box and name in the top box, save and it enters a clickable link in your post.

Also make Bob's life easier click the number link, top of took bar next to the word normal, sets up a auto numbering list and save Bob from counting. Take a look at my post above to see how it looks.

    All the best Janet

I will get some done. I only have a few actually born on Christmas, though.

    1. Mary Ann (Odom) Gideons - WikiTree Profile Interesting fact - her son and his son were all born on Christmas Day!
    2. John Edward Gideons - WikiTree Profile (Mary Ann's son)
    3. Ferby (Huston) Streets - WikiTree Profile

I'll have a try... Well, I looked but I can't find any Christmas day births, I can only think of a living first cousin and Alice, Duchess of Gloucester who has a fairly good protected profile,so neither are really suitable.  I have just one death on Christmas day, so think this will be my only contribution this month unless I find someone unexpectedly.

I haven't taken part in a challenge before, but my 2x great-grandparents were married on Christmas Day, so I'll 'do' them:
    1.  John William (Dale) Dales - WikiTree Profile
    2.  Esther Amelia (Taylor) Dale - WikiTree Profile

Please let me know if there's anything else I should know and/or do.

    Edited to give links

Edited to add another couple I've found who married on Christmas Day:

    3. Lewis Greenwood Beaumont - WikiTree Profile
    4. Elsie (Hemingway) Haigh - WikiTree Profile

I'm in, I've just gone through my watchlist and found 15 people who were either born or baptised on 25 December, nine of them are related to me.

The other six are related to the Jacka Name Study that I'm involved with, so if anyone would like a profile to work on let me know and I'll post the other six URLs as I don't think I'll have time to get to all the extra Jacka unrelated ones.
