There seems to only be a modern unsourced tome alluding to this Isabell Lindsay as a daughter of David Lindsay. Perhaps she is confused with the daughter of David's uncle James who is also named Isabella and also married a John Maxwell of Pollok. There certainly does not appear to be a John Maxwell of Pollok documented who matches the dates for this later generation.

Well, yes, it mentions the OTHER Isabella who is her father's first cousin (her first cousin once remove), but I did not see where it mentioned her.  I also looked at "Lives of Lindsay" 2nd ed. vol. 1 and, again, only saw references to her cousin.  Where it lists children of David Lindsay, Isobella is absent. (pp. 104-5)
