Joseph Tierney 1838 Married to Charlotte Lindsay 1840 Dublin

Hi All,

I would love to know more about Joseph Tierney of South Dublin and his family. I believe he was from Donnybrook or this was where himself and Charlotte Tierney got married. Donnybrook Church. Charlotte Tierney was Charlotte Lindsay.

Here is what I know.

Joseph Tierney was born on 7 May 1838 in Dublin, Dublin, to Catherine Keating (I know nothing about this lady) and John Tierney 1811.

He had 6 children with Charlotte Lindsay Tierney.

This was her second marriage. She had been Married to a Thomas Bagnall. I have nothing on him. 

Joseph’s siblings were 

William Tierney 1836 who Married a Mary Holdcroft (no information on her except maybe there is a Father Henry Holdcroft and Mother Margaret Philip).

Mary Tierney 1845

Catherine Tierney 1848

Christopher Tierney 1851

John Tierney, Joseph’s Father, had a Father called James Tierney Married to a Catherine McDermott.

John had a Sister Joana Tierney 1816

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Where are they from, do they still exist today as a family, who was Catherine McDermot, and who was Henry Holdcroft and Thomas Bagnall?

May I ask, do you believe they are distant relatives of yours? I questioned if this may be my 3rd great grandfathers family hence my question. My 3rd great grandfather was John Tierney (DOB Jan 1854) but I’m struggling with linking him to Ireland/London where he immigrated from.
