Elizabeth Norwood conflict

Question

I'm researching Governor John Branch, NC.

 

His father had 8 children by 2 wives.  The problem is with the second wife, Elizabeth Norwood.  According to the book, "John Branch, 1782-1863, Governor of NC"  by Marshall DeLancey Haywood, Colonel John Branch had 3 children with Elizabeth.  The children are listed in his wikifile.  When I click on the name of William it does show that he is the son of John and Elizabeth.  But when I click  on Elizabeth, it says she is married to a Francis Branch.  But she's not listed as ever being John's wife.  

The whole thing is leaving me confused.

Hi Sandi,

It looks like all of the relationships are there, except that a marriage was never entered between Elizabeth and John.  You can easily rectify it from either's page.

so she was married to both Mr. Branch's?  I'll go ahead and add the marriage now.  But I'm trying to understand.

Looking at the dates, the Francis marriage is an obvious mistake.  Dunno what kind of mistake exactly, but it has to go.
