Sheepdog trials!   Dudley looks so dapper out in the paddock, doesn't he!

I don't know where you are, but they don't have them in every country.   It is dog obedience, where the stationery dog trialler has to control the dog with instructions and whistling.  The dog has to round up a group of sheep.

Dudley was my 1st cousin, once removed.  He was the NZ champion 5 times, the only one to have achieved that at the time of his death in 1992.

Morrison-16930 has his obituary attached.  A handy musician too!

I used to go watch the sheepdog trials in my home state when I was growing up.  (Mainland Australia -- currently resident USA.)

I use to LOVE watching them round up, and herd; and follow the hand signals or whistled commands.  It was like magic!

Who is the dog? BTW Sheepdog trials and dog obedience are two very different events. Every breed is eligible to compete in obedience.

I was just trying to describe what dog trials are like.
Incidentally, I see that dog trials first took place here in New Zealand back in 1889.
