How is birth site determined in migration map from Ireland to Scotland

I am looking at the migration map for ancestor John Daly  2432 (b.1826  d.1880).  I have no information that he was born in County Armagh.  However, the site map shows Armagh as the place of birth.  How was this determined on the navigator?  I am certain his death location is Glasgow, Scotland.  I have been looking for emigration information for the Daly line of my ancestry  for a long time.  Can you point to a reference which I might explore to confirm this information.  Thank you, Susan Terrien Russo

Hi Susan,

There is no evidence as to him being from County Armagh, it is merely the point that the computer/app decided to mark as being representative of 'Ireland'. You can look at any profile with a birth location of Ireland and it will always point to the same field. Similarly the map doesn't show exactly where in Glasgow your ancestor died, just a point that represents "Glasgow".

The map is not incredibly precise or historical - as far as I'm aware it is just there to show a rough visual representation of your ancestors were over time.
