This is my original post https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1301773/trying-hand-at-inline?show=1302327#c1302327

I am going round and round between the name of the spouse for Julia. I posted the link to bio below. I detached as I thought maybe this gentleman used the name Richard but nothing comes up in searches for Richard.

Now I located the obit for Edward and he lived in Williamstown same as Julia.  His widow was a Julia Miller Adams.

I made on ancestry to add the parents of both Richard and Edward.

Both Fathers named Francis, and both men born in Treemont. Now on the marriage line for Julia it lists Richards mother as Emma Falls born in Palo Alto Schuykill Pennsylvania. So I listed her as Emma Falls and the place of birth. In my research I come up with Mary Emma Falls born 30 Aug 1879 . For Edwards mother I found her Death cert and it lists her DOB as 30 Aug 1879 although listing Pottsvile as place of birth. Her Obit lists her name as Mary Emma, on the 1900 census she shows as the adopted daughter of the Jones family. Her marriage announcement event states she is the adoptive daughter of the Jones.

Now as to Emma Falls I can find her on not one census. But I did follow the parents listed on the Baptism and even they are giving me fits. They did live in Palo Alto, but I find her father remarried so possibly her mother died though she is with him on the 1880 census but no Emma.

Am I going insane or do others get the ideal that these men are the same person but why would he used wrong name for marriage lines?

I don't know if it's relevant but to me the marriage license looks like it was filled out almost entirely (or entirely) by the same person. I wonder whether it might have been filled out by someone who didn't know Edward and incorrectly wrote Richard for some reason.
I recently found a marriage source for a person where  it clearly states: "Forename Forename properly Forename Forenam Lastname", so it's not impossible for someone to use a name other than the one their parents gave them.

This wouldn't be the first time, either, where the cleric writes down something incorrectly -- but your "Richard" presumably signed his name.
I just throughly studied it and I think you are correct even all the signatures are the same hand if you look at it even the registrants wonder if a copy was made after the original was ruined?
I think that's a strong possibility, Jacqueline. It also says something about "triplicate" so maybe it's a second or third copy made by someone other than the original parties.
Also, regarding Emma, maybe she was put in an orphanage or something similar between her birth in 1879 and the date of the 1880 census.
I just did this  to help keep my notes  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:About_me

I am really thinking that someone made a big booboo with that licence
Ok now I know I can be certified and committed I just found Julias obit she remarried to a George A Adams a widower about 1955 So I think it safe that Edward was her first husband as I found a lot that points to it including the shower and young children who are julias niece and nephews spending weekend with them and them vising for weekend Julias parents. And I think that the 2 sets of parents are actually one in the same.  any input here?
