Hi,

Carrie proposed in G2G for a new sticker... see here Proposing a New Black Sea German Sticker - WikiTree G2G

I am asking the templates project leaders to please create this sticker since the proposal requirements for sticker creation has been adhered to. And the minimum number of 3 people supporting the proposal has been followed, with my approval being given for this sticker being created now.

The sticker is for Black Sea Germans.

The image was chosen after project members had the chance to vote for an image which you can view on this page link: Black Sea Germans Working Page (wikitree.com) and G2G was given the chance for all of wikitree to  vote, see this post for more information Time to Vote For the Black Sea Germans Sticker - WikiTree G2G

The winning image: Black_Sea_Germans_Working_Page-6.jpg (2000×1440) (wikitree.com)

Thank you in advance for creating this sticker for our Black Sea Germans members.

Thank you to Carrie for all the work and effort she put into the proposal process for this sticker to be created.

Kind regards,

Kylie Haese ~ Germany Project Leader

Thank you Kylie for laying the history of its request out so nicely for the template team.  I've worked hard to get make the Black Sea Germans sticker a team effort.

Have a great day everyone!!smiley

This sticker was already proposed here: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1277718/proposing-a-new-black-sea-german-sticker. An email was sent to the templates project leaders, Kylie and Carrie on August 4 regarding this sticker, Volga Germans sticker and changes to the German Roots stickers. No response received yet.

8/4 is?

August 4, 2021 smiley

@ Carrie -- I knew that, but there are many who would see it (as I first did) as the 8th April.  We should always use words for months.
When I'm working with Quaker records/dates, which contain all numbers,  it is a challenge to keep track was what is the date and what is the month. So it is nice to have the month named.

Hi Everyone, sorry for the delay... Trying to monitor two inboxes lately and unfortunately a few things have been lost in transition to a unified workspace (some of which were template project messages).

In regards to Black Sea Germans Sticker - I did see communications in G2G about voting on images, potential wording output, etc.; however, I have not yet seen a final proposal thread. According to Help:Stickers (underline is my emphasis).

If you would like a new Sticker, whether or not you are a member of the Templates Project, propose it in G2G using the STICKERS tag. Include your thoughts on what it would say and give examples of profiles you manage that you would place it on. If three or more other active members say that they would also use it on profiles they manage, and there aren't strong objections from the community, it can be created.

This will make sure we can create the sticker without trying to interpret voting results, sifting through all proposed images and threads on the subject, etc. Once we have a clear proposal in G2G, it is very easy for us monitor the progress for a day or so and then any Template Editor who is free can jump in to assist with creation.

Okay, we have done most of this, There have been two final proposal messages.  This one and the first proposal found at Proposing a New Black Sea German Sticker - WikiTree G2G

From the other proposal message was this information:

Please have the sticker say, "____ was a Black Sea German" and call it the Black Sea Germans sticker.

On both messages, the winning images has been listed:

The winning image: Black_Sea_Germans_Working_Page-6.jpg (2000×1440) (wikitree.com)

I missed the listing profile examples for you to look at, sorry about that.  There are hundreds of them. Here are a few profiles that I manage that I'd use the sticker on:  Matilda Buchholz and her ancestors. Gottlieb Hensel and his ancestors, ancestors of Ottelia Bader,  Christian Bich and his ancestors.

All of the profile in the Bessarabia category  and the  Kherson category can use this sticker. Other provinces were it can be used in, are the Crimea and Ekaterinoslav.  (These categories are not yet as developed at Wikitree.)  There are profiles from from the Dobrudscha colony of Romania (now Turkey).that can use it. An example of this is Martin Hensel and his descendants.

In short, this sticker will see a lot of use.

Carrie Lippincott, Black Sea Team Leader

Steve, we did all this last month. Carrie linked to the original discussion above. I sent the Templates project an email to alert them to this on 4 Aug 21. That email also touched on changes to the Volga German stickers and changes to the German Roots sticker. I will resend that email to you/Ales as I have not heard back from either of you.

Hi Carrie, there were a lot of edits to those threads so it was hard to follow what was changing and what was being requested. I can have Traci message me the details.

Traci, please email me at the address listed here.

Hi Steve, I just sent you a very long email with all the correspondence on the Black Sea, Volga and German Roots stickers. I am going to close this G2G post and you and I can work to get these 3 stickers developed. Thanks! Traci
