There is a Surrogate Notice published  on behalf of her daughter Gladys H. Payne, as Personal Representative, with respect to her mother's estate on April 30, 1929. It reflects that she was recently deceased and, at the time of her death, she resided at 863 St. Marks Avenue, Brooklyn, New York.

Yes I see the notice. Thank you. The daughter Gladys seems to be her only child. It would appear Lydia passed in 1929 or late 1928. The children of Gladys who was divorced from first husband are mentioned also.

I found one more - "17 Word Will Disposes of a $1,061,232 Estate," The Brooklyn Daily Eagle (Brooklyn, New York), May 12, 1926, p. 3.

It recites that she died November 24, 1924, in  California, but had previously lived at the address in Brooklyn, New York.

There's another article - "Some People Have All The Luck," Monrovia Daily News (Monrovia, California), May 12, 1926, p. 4. - which recites that Gladys H. Payne was recovering in the hospital from a Caesarian when she got the news.  It calls her a distant relative.

There are several probate-related notices in San Francisco, California, which suggests she must have been there.

The father John Francis Henry was a millionaire in the 19th century and very successful. The Will of John Henry however shows the estate he divided was only worth $12k which is hard to believe but the 2nd wife I believe received the estate or 1/3 of everything. He left all his kids something.

Thank you

Some great sources yes

The Find A Grave is a match but not much on the memorials yet
The death record says age of death 68. No birth date given but census reports place her birth in the 1840’s
As Delphine was the informant for her sister's death cert, at least you have the parent names.
