Laura Alford ( Alford 3530) was married Claiborne Parrish Waldrop jr ( died 1862).  They married 10 Dec 1857. She was his second wife; his first wife was her sister,

Theis a death date for Laura Alford: 24 Mar 1879.  The Cemetery is reported to be:  Mt Hermon, Washington Parish, LA.  The date is reasonable as is the Cemetery  ( other than it is on the other side of the state).  I cannot find her in the 1880 census.  There are alfords in that Cemetery; but, I did not find her.

I wish to prove the date and the Cemetery.

Thank you for any help.

Marriage cert has Laury Alford marrying Claibourn Waldrop  March 14 1852 in Sabina Louisiana
Correct    Sabine Parish, Book 1, p 27..  The father is Julius Alford.  We were given the death date in 2007; it was in a data base that were were given.  There was no source; I have deduced that the owner of the data base ( died 2007) was given the date by  a researcher of this line. After Laura died ( no death date; died by 1857) Claiborne married Laura Alford  10 Dec 1857..

Greetings Howard, I took a quick look on Find A Grave. I found Claiborne (1792-1872) in Sabine Parish, if that helps. Couldn't find Laura though under Alford or Waldrop.

Good luck on your search.

edit: I just noticed the Claiborne I found is Sr.
And on we go...

I was given the death date of 24 Jun 1879 yeas ago; it was not documented. I found the asserted cemetery on an LDS Pedigree resource flie.  An inventory for that cemetery at GenWeb did not show a grave.  Neither did Find a Grave.

But, that Alford family did appear to be in Washington Parish.  And, there  are Alfords in that Cemetery.  She must have died in Sabine Parish.  ISo, her remians had to be taken back to Washingon if the story is true.

I do not like undocumented facts in the data base, so Iwant to prove the death date.  I do think that she died between 1870 and 1880.
