A Captain in the 106th New York Infantry Regiment Co. H Charles Rider needs connecting and more research to find his gravestone and date of death. He was mentioned in a court martial but needs collaboration in his research.

Thank you

Update: I believe this is his FindAGrave and it appears his rank at death was Colonel. His wife died apparently 6 days prior FindAGrave. See her mentioned Here

All I can seem to find is his roster here  https://museum.dmna.ny.gov/application/files/9015/5309/3193/106th_Infantry_CW_Roster.pdf

If this is him his grave seeing as it says Capt but the stone says Col. perhaps the stone is incorrect or it could be that people just called him Col. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/137087828/charles-j-rider

just wish there was some information on him becoming a colonel to make sure it is him ah, it is him http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~slindbloom/genealogy/aqwg528.htm

That’s an awesome source. Mentions a family Bible too and links to gravestone same as his FindAGrave. No kids mentioned. Him and his wife died within days of each other from Pneumonia. I wish he had an obit but his wifes obit mentions him. Thank you
Yes her obit says that they did not have any children and married quite late?  so I wonder if he had a wife before her,?
Good point. It can’t be ruled out considering their age. It doesn’t appear she had children from her first husband who passed.
