Does any kind person on WikiTree have access to back issues of The Winnipeg Free Press?
It looks like they are available on https://archives.winnipegfreepress.com and https://newspaperarchive.com.
I would really appreciate a transcription of three or four short entries which I believe appear in this newspaper, as follows:
William McDonald was a Scottish farmer who settled in North Dakota, USA, and later relocated to Dominion City, Winnipeg, Canada. He apparently reached his 100th birthday in 1940 or 41, and died on or after 1943.
I am trying to establish whether William McDonald in these reports is actually William Moggach or McDonald, born in Mortlach (which covers Dufftown) in Scotland in 1845.
If it is the same man, his ages, as reported, may be up to five years out, but there are two many hints that he is the same man for me to ignore.
If anyone can help, I’d really appreciate the headline, a transcription of the text, the date, page and column number of each item, so I can write suitable citations.
Please be assured that I’ll pay-forward any help received!
Very many thanks,
