Was King her birth name, or the name she gained when she married?
Thanks for your question. King was her birth name, she was unmarried. My mother, Kathleen Kura King was born 1915 in Victoria. She , Annie, was a " live in" Grandma with our family  but no more knowledge beyond details on my mother's birth certificate.
So, you don't know when in 1968, or where, she died?

There is a birth registration for 1881 in Wollongong (which would likely be the nearest registration point for Bulli).  If you know anything regards when/where she died, we might be able to cross check the parents, if given for the death.
Birth registration for Kathleen Kura King in Victoria, was in 1914, not 1915.
Ah yes! thank you Melanie, I have the document. My mistake there. It lists under "Mother," Annie King age 32 and birthplace "Bulli NSW." Nothing under "Father."

This looks like her – www.findagrave.com/memorial/164464981/annie-king :

Find a Grave, database and images (accessed 25 April 2021), memorial page for Annie King (unknown–16 Feb 1968), {{FindAGrave|164464981}}, citing Geelong Eastern Cemetery, Geelong, Greater Geelong City, Victoria, Australia ; Maintained by Ron M (contributor 48458376).

Wills and Probate Records. VPRS 28 (Probates) and VPRS 7591 (Wills). Public Record Office Victoria; North Melbourne, Victoria; Victorian Wills, Probate and Administration Records 1841-1925; Series: VPRS 7591

Name: Annie King

Death Date: 15 Feb 1968

Death Place: Geelong

Occupation: Spinster

Grant Date: 11 Apr 1969

I may be wrong -- it happens! -- but I really do think this is her birth record :

KING ANNIE

18892/1881

Thank you once again, you are really trying to be helpful here. My grandma who had previously been living in Collaroy NSW had transferred to a nursing home in Wahroongah and that is where she died, so can only assume that is where her death would be registered. But unfortunately don't have any paperwork on that.

Then, again, that Find a Grave and Will may not be her, as the only 1968 death registration that matches Geelong has different parents, and a stated birthplace in Carlton, Victoria - and is a good 10 years too young.

I'll keep looking.

Death registration would then be :

KING ANNIE

43063/1968

DIED AT WAHROONGA

AGED 87 YRS

HORNSBY

No, definitely no Vic connection at that end of her life, but the 1881 Wollongong birth looks interesting. Maybe my maths is out.

On 21st Sept 1914 my grandma was 32. She, Annie King was born in early May, 1st or second week I remember her birthday being, ( Labour day?) So that takes it back to 1882(?)
You have to take ages on birth records of children with a little stretching.  My great-grandfather was prone to giving a different age at every event.  So when he was married, he was one age, then less than a year later, he had a different date of birth.  The names of his parents, too, as stated on his marriage documents (a legal declaration) were not the actual names of his parents.
I see it could be a moving target then. I did try and access those birth details in Wollongong and put all your details in but no result for some reason. The thing I would want to check would be that early May birthdate.  Then that might confirm it. My grandfather was a question we never asked. It seemed in our young minds to violate privacy or something.Regrets come from things like that. I do have a portrait of her I did as an art student on out MY Heritage tree. A lovely woman. Not helpful in tracing but essential to my memories. Thanks.

Welcome to WikiTree Robert.

If you upgrade and add what you already know you may find you connect with others or get clues to where her family may have been before 1882.

Thank you Will, the only official document I am aware of is my mother's ( "Kathleen Kura King,)birth certificate in 1915. It says of my grandmother "unmarried." And " born Bulli 1882.
