We need help adding sources to connect him to his parents. His wife Catherine Bertha Steele passed away at age 19-20. Did she die of the Spanish flu or child birth? Need help finding sources to connect him to the Wikitree family.

Taking into account his middle name, you might try King County Washington. There are Manning and Simpier living there in the 1880/1890s. It seems likely the middle name MANNING is given to honor a close family relative or godparent.
