Why would someone change bio without sources? [closed]

Question

When changing bio information on a profile that has primary and derivative sources noted to support that information, why would someone change that info without providing new or better sources?

Examples:

http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Trimmer-90 was Henry Trimmer

http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Willson-706 was Ura Willson

 

First Names, Parents, DOB, DOD, places, etc. being changed?

I can only add 5 tags.  Hopefully, this will bring to light anyone following this lineage as suspect.  I feel certain Rangers can route this through channels as needed.  I personally would not change an existing profile without providing sources to support my changes.

I totally agree. Might have been absentmindenss or the person did not realize  he should not be doing that.

I just looked at the Samuel Trimmer profile and the only changes I could see are that a mother and father were added today, where none had previously been.  The previous changes had all been made by you a long time ago.

I thought it was very strange that the bio states that Samuel was married - at the age of 10 - to someone named Henry Trimmer, but that is something you entered before.

I have not looked at the Willson profile.

Could you please be more specific about exactly what changes you are saying have been made?  Thank you.

I clarified the bio section as being from his wife.  I was going to leave the rest of the mess in place until I close this post.  Then all of his vitals need to be corrected and the newly added parents detached.

BTW:  I also fear the Old Timer's disease <chuckle>

I beg your pardon, Jacqueline.  I happen to be 21, and I have been for many years.  My profile shows the year my birth certificate was issued, which was a long time before I was born - it so happens that I was pre-conceived.  I was born in 1994 and next year I will be born in 1995.  The secret to life is to find the right age and just stick with it ... except when in stores on days that they give senior citizen discounts, of course.

Besides, when you've been 21 this long, they say the memory starts to go.  It is so much easier to remember my age when it doesn't keep changing every yer.

David I getting close to that have about 3900. I been going alphabetically cleaning up the bios and i have a great Wikieer who is an awesome mentor I send her a list and she goes behind me and writes snippets on those I have more info on.
