Too many children

I’m having difficulties with my 2nd great grandmother .... Elmina or we always called her Albina Trudelle ....

She married Joseph Louis Thibert

So I have that she was born in 1880

But there’s a grave stone that says She was born in 1892

Her father was Joseph Trudelle (I have born in 1834) in Quebec .... but he would have been 50 years old

Married to Melina Dechenes born 1841

Married on august 7 1860 in Berthier Quebec

The siblings attached are from 1861 -1888 (17 siblings)

but one of the siblings of course is another Joseph Trudelle born in 1865

to make this worse there’s another Joseph Trudelle who’s the father of the first one ....

I’ve not attached all the sources ... but there seems to be 19 siblings that are all intertwined

I need to weed out the proper Joseph Trudelle’s with the proper children ....

1. Joseph Trudelle (1796) and Marie Silvestre (1805) married 1823 Berthier Quebec

2. Joseph Trudelle (1834) and Melina Deschene (1841) married 1860 Berthier Quebec

3. Joseph Trudelle (1865) and Mary Campeau (1884) married 1901 in Belle River Ontario

I hope your experience can help here ....

Is this one of your Josephs? born 1834, but he might have only lived for 2 years:

This might be one of the Elmina's, not necessarily yours, unless you recognize the sibs?

You have come to the right place for help...but could i suggest you 'tag' your question with a few keywords that will bring it to the attention of the folks in the know!

Here's something on that from the Help menu: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Tags#Tags_in_G2G

You can still edit your question and tag it, possibly with Quebec or Quebecois, also Trudelle and any of the other family names of the possible wives.

Doesn’t appear to be .... can I upload pictures to help?
Unless his age at death is incorrect .... it doesn’t really fit
The absolutely best thing you could do is start a profile for Albina and attach all the sources you already have - pictures, censuses, marriage info...

That way i and others can build on your work rather than duplicating it.

When you have the profile started, use the linking field at the bottom of the question form to put her Wiki ID - that will link the profile and this question.
Good job editing the question to add tags!  Just one thing - probably it is better to just put 'Trudell' rather than first names.  There are probably a few WikiTreers who are following the tag Trudell - but they won't necessarily see the tags that include the first names.

I see a marriage record for your Frank, where his parents are named as Albina Trudel and Joseph Thebert or Thibert.

I may have the orignial Marriage certificate and information for Frank and Blanche ... and Isadore ... I have portraits of them and a 300 page Genealogy for my Grandma Blanche side who was Garant ...

... my issues lies a little deeper with  Frank and Isadores Parents Joseph Thibert and Albina  and  her parents and grandparents ... who were also another Joseph Trudelle

I have 2-3 years of investigating and research on FamilySearch

Someone (before I got started) had added a lot of sources to Joseph Trudelle and I think when doing it ... really messed things up ; at which point I started getting confused - as I don’t have the physical records

and it’s very hard to tag things from sources as they named all their kids the same lol  and married into the same families ...

Is anyone willing to check out the extensive  tree on Family Search ?

I did use Ancestry for the 14 day trial to really try to confirm the lineage ....

I’m very aware that there are some issues with it ... but I have a hard time reading the writing on most of the censuses ... I often am using the tagged details to help me determine to attach or not ...
one aspect that might be making it look like TOO MANY CHILDREN is the different interpretation of the same names.

One of the boys is Isadore, but the census taker got it as Essider one time, and Crador another time...someone could easily take that to be 3 different people.

Likewise Hilda / Exilde / Zilda

I think Mathilda E is the same person as Eva...

The second boy is Albert Gilbert Thibert, and sometimes he is listed by just one of his forenames.
Matilda is definitely Matilda Eva .... I actually was able to find a distant relative of Matilda on Facebook and she’s trying to arrange to give me her side of the tree

Matilda never spoke of her siblings ... so her daughter was very unaware that Matilda had ANy siblings
I understand that your issue is with the previous generation, but in order to sort the confusion out, it would be helpful to identify these families on the census, working backwards from something solid.  So Frank and Blanche are something solid.  Frank on the 1911 census is fairly solid.  Joseph Louis and Albina/Ermina/Hermina got married in May 1900, so now we can look for them on the 1901 census.  They might still be living near their parents.  Looks like her mother's name Melina might be Emilina sometimes....
Yes her mother Melina Deschene is what I have .... also known as Amelina Duchene and I also have a Deschene Dit Minville

In 1871 they were in Berthier Quebec

in 1881 I have them now in Tilbury Ontario

1901 in Essex Ontario

So just before Albina Trudelle was born ... the family had moved to Tilbury

Maybe I’m just over reacting to the 17 siblings and it’s correct

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MVDT-BV6?cid=fs_copy

Think that’s the right link to Census 1881

Do you think this is the correct marriage for Albina and Joseph Louis on 1 May 1900?

https://www.ancestry.ca/sharing/23722247?h=697065&utm_campaign=bandido-webparts&utm_source=post-share-modal&utm_medium=copy-url

That is foundational to getting back into the next generation.
That particular wedding left a big paper trail....
Yes that is the correct marriage date — it’s what I have in my records
Then it looks like you could create profiles for Frank's parents, and for their parents.

Would you like to go ahead and do that?  That will facilitate the rest of the process...

I see 11 children for Joseph Louis Thebert and Albina Trudel, counting the twins who passed away in infancy.  That is not any kind of a record in those days....

Here are the ones i see solid evidence for:

Joseph b 1901

Albert Gilbert b 1904

Isadore b 1907

Frank b 1909

Marie Mathilda Eva b 1910

Leon b 1911

Marie Exilia (Cecelia) b 1913

Charles Alphonse b 1915

Marie Exilda (Hilda, Zilda) b 1917

Twins: Joseph Achille Armand and Marguerite Armeline b 1920

If you want to start the profiles, i will add the sources i found

Cheers

I’m a bit overwhelmed as I’m not completely familiar with this site ....

I’ve started to add my parent/ grandparents to this tree but the 2 years of work on FamilySearch is a LOT to swing over here

At 36 and working full-time ... I’m going to try and do my best :...

Just FYI, i have just been able to prove that the couple known as Joseph Tibert and Melvina Gravelle having children in Algoma in the first decade of the 1900s are NOT your Joseph and Albina, even though they have a son named Joseph Frank Tibert who has a similar birthday to your Frank.  Let me know if you want details.

Joseph Trudelle married Josephte Sylvestre 22 Apr 1833 in Saint-Barthélemy (not Berthier) https://www.genealogiequebec.com/Membership/LAFRANCE/acte/3963995 Marriage IGD (membership needed)

6 children found, 2 died young and 3 married here

Their son Joseph Trudel married Mélénas Dechaîne dite Minville 7 Aug 1860 in St-Barthélemy  https://www.genealogiequebec.com/Membership/LAFRANCE/acte/4842304 Marriage IGD

They have one child baptized in 1861 in St-Barthélemy, and then they disappear from records for this province. (Note that baptism indexing for IGD stops at 1861, so might be more children born there, but no marriages of their children show up here)

oh, and the Joseph who marries in 1860 was born and baptized 10 March 1834 in St-Barthélemy  https://www.genealogiequebec.com/Membership/LAFRANCE/acte/3023630 Bapt. IGD
