How to Merge when one Manager is inactive

Question

So, two of my ancestors match with another account, but the manager for that account hasn't been active since November 2014 (and not often on prior to that).  So, how do I go about merging the two ancestors and how long do I wait until this becomes a problem?

Do I just stop on these two ancestors and work around it or do I continue to add my information until such time as that other manager appears again?  I noticed that he has denied merges in the past as well.

A good question, that I do not think has a finite answer, but my advice is two fold:

First, seek to be appointed to the profiles trusted list, and if not forthcoming in say seven days then,

Second, propose the merge. and after a period of 30 days should  the other manager have not agreed to the merge, that merge becomes  defaulted  and open for completion.

Meanwhile continue to add your information to your profiles.
