Can I split my watchlist? [closed]

I have a lot of profiles on my watch list.  I don't want to remove any as I have just joined Data Doctors and so want to keep an eye on them via the suggestions reports so that errors don't creep in as others make changes to open profiles.  However I have a large tree of my own and I look after my wife's tree which is also large, and I am now collecting a growing number of orphans from working on family names.  I would like a way to manage these separately rather than as one huge watch list.  Has anyone any suggestions of ways of doing this. Ideally I want 3 watch list; mine, my wife's and adoptions, but a way of categorising would do as I could paste the watch list into Excel and work with that.

Would it work to use the new activity feeds?

It sounds like it is activity feeds you are interested in. Maybe keep some key people in your watchlist in a spreadsheet. Then remove all people connected to those people from your watchlist and make a point to cycle through people on your spreadsheet and click links to their activity feeds. Would that work?

I hadn't seen this feature before, so thanks for giving me a link.   I have also now come across to do lists  [https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:To-Do_Lists] which also might help.  It looks I will be busy for a while playing with these to see what I can achieve.

No, I'm afraid you can't split your Watchlist.  Perhaps do as Barry suggested, and put the Data Doctors profiles into a spreadsheet and then remove them from your Watchlist.

What I might do is to copy everything to a spread sheet then split those into three work sheets; my tree, my wife's tree and adopted orphans.  Then delete everything from my watch list except for blood relations to me.  Plenty to look at now.  Many thanks.
I wouldn't recommend removing every single profile.  Just the DD ones.  If you delete the ones related to you, you risk messing up search results, DNA connections, and so on.  It will also mean that duplicates may be created because your profiles will not be there to flag them up.
?? I understood JG that way that he wants to delete the profiles *from his Watchlist*, not from the Tree itself.
Yes, and I understood that.  But if there aren't many profiles left on his Watchlist, that will interfere with searches, DNA connections, and all sorts.  Supposing he deleted his aunt from his Watchlist (removing himself from her Trusted List), then DNA would not be able to propagate to her.
Yes Ross, I realised this about ten minutes later when I thought it through.  I don't want to delete anything from my watch list. I don't want to orphan them and I want to keep them clear of errors using the weekly report.  What I need is four worksheets in my spreadsheet, or free space page; the three for the two trees and orphans and a fourth for blood relatives.  I will use the spreadsheet to control what I am working on and the watchlist only for alerts on activity by others and the suggestions
Ros, I don't understand why DNA connections are going to be lost by removing a profile from Watch List.  DNA connections are shown on profiles that are not on your own Watch List, aren't they?
