Has anyone established the Jamestown or Plymouth link to the West Midland Staffy or any other English county Sneyds? http://www.keele.ac.uk/library/specarc/collections/sneydfamily/

I'm looking for information on my 3rd. gr. grandfather Seth or Henry Seth Sneyd b. abt. 1790 in England, and d. abt. 1875 in Unicoi, Tennessee, USA

He married Mary Anne Butcher on 18 Jul 1814 in Stafford, England.

Mary Ann Butcher b. 1797 in England, and d. 1839 place unknown.

If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

The Sneed/Snead family from Virginia had already moved to North Carolina when your Sneyd came to America. Not sure what branch your ancestor came from.

Six years later, is this still of interest to you?  If so, I can provide information I have accumulated in my effort to make this connection.

Margaret Domville Hatton Banks, emigrant to Maryland in 1649, was a descendant of the Sneyds of Bradwell, Wolstanton, Staffordshire (her paternal grandmother was Margaret, daughter of Sir William Sneyd).
