Thomas' Comparison Tree (Ancestry image 1) &  (Ancestry image 1)

I broke another brick wall possibly. I haven't consulted the Ancestry tree since I don't know where to find the link, but I found the LNAB to Gerrit Freer's (Freer-30) wife. It was Freer. Maria Freer. She was an orphan so I adopted her and changed her last name at birth. I located her parent on WikiTree and connected her. They are Jonas Freer (Freer-483) and Catrina Stokera (Stokera-2).

Ellen, I discovered that the merge would not be proper. They were in fact two different women.

Lucy, is there a reason why you did not actually propose the merge of Unknown-21659 into Freer-128? The birthdate of 1829 is too late to allow a Leader to adopt the profile, but if you can propose it with strong evidence, I am sure we can get the merge to happen.

The unknown LNAB is supposed to be DePuy.

@Lucy that is a good find! There aren't bounty points for that, though, as a brick wall was already broken on that line (Elizabeth Cornelia Freer)
Still I was able to tie together some lines. And there's more.
New Profile Created Elizabeth DeGroodt age 14 in 1900 United States Census and sister to Margaret DeGroodt
Added new profile for Abram DeGroodt some male age 9 brother to Margaret DeGroodt

In this branch, I'm about to disconnect the father of Richard le Roy as all the serious research undertaken on this family has shown that Richard's parents are not known.

The comparison tree image stops at Siméon le Roy (Richard's son) so I can't see if Richard is in it.

I started a free space page for Montrepose Cemetery in Kingston, New York, where some of Thomas ancestors are buried.

https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Space:Montrepose_Cemetery%2C_Kingston%2C_New_York&public=1

So I've added a new brick wall (that was necessary for accuracy). Richard le Roy is now parent-less.

Thank you for contributing to accuracy, Isabelle.

Wow Maddy!

Christine thank you I will do that then. regarding "Margaret DeGroodt may be removed from the maintenance list as needing marriage. It has been added. (DeGroodt-5).

Yes I breaking some brick walls, and making corrections on Thomas's great grandmother Margaret "Maggie DeGroodt, may be also known as Loretta, could anybody possibly provide a source for the "Loretta", please.

You are on fire, Maddy! Congratulations!! laugh

Thank you for the we-relate website will check it out.
Added sourced documentation for birth, to include census record on Margaret.  So one challenge completed.  More work to do on her still. All day project LOL
Does adding any of Margaret's family line to the tree add in credits and if so can someone give me an example.
By removing the category needing marriage information did that remove it from maintenance list?  Otherwise please send me url for maintenance list thank you.
I’ve strengthened Thomas’ connection to THE ONE TREE through Rachel Roosa’s maternal line. He is now connected to some early (late 1700s) Lawrence profiles in New York.
Will be finishing up profile on Jacob DeGroodt today.

I went to the Google same area as before and it gives this person's name their marriage their date of the wife and a few other people that are related to him and it also refers you to ancestry.com, www.werelate.com
I am working on Martin Slattery.
I am also working on Margaret Slattery, Martin's wife.

I've added the marriage entry for John Leehive and Julia Keefe. John's parents were John and Margaret, Julia's were Dennis and Mary. I've not yet been able to find any reference to them in Ireland but will continue to search. Not sure if just knowing their names would count for bounty points.

Can I share my bonus points for finding John Leehive’ s wife’s name Julia Keefe with Carol Keeling please.

Maddy
I am finished with Martin and Margaret Slattery - if someone wants to start working on them, have at it.
Please make sure nobody has a profile listed in the sheet before working on it - thanks! :D
Carol, can you please add the parents of John Leehive-1? Their names with his marriage source are enough to add them. You can estimate their births based on the son's dates.

Mindy, I've added the profiles for John's parents so we now have John Leehive and Margaret Unknown

I've done quite a lot of research on possible Lahiff/Lahive connections, and have added this information to John's profile, just in case it becomes relevant. I've also orphaned these two profiles so anyone else is more than welcome to add more to their bios.

Would you like me to do something similar for the parents of Julia Keefe ?

Truly fabulous work Carol, well done!

Edit - sorry about the bold writing, I can’t seem to get rid of it on my iPad

Thank you for your appreciation Maddy.

I've now created the parents of Julia Keefe, who were Dennis Keefe and Mary Unknown. As before, I've orphaned these two profiles, so if anyone has anything else to add, then do please go ahead.

I've also spent some time today looking at Thomas's DNA matches on Gedmatch, just to see if I could find any link to any possible Irish families with the Leehive/Keefe names. Sadly there was nothing obvious that would link him to any matches from these families. Am hoping these brick walls will be resolved with DNA in the future.

great job Carol!

I noticed that the bounty points for John Leehive’s parents were shared between me and Carol, I just want to say they were all Carol’s work so the points should be all hers.

I have to look deeper tonight when I get back from work but believe the Unknown Krom https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Krom-34 is Reuben Krom who m. Cornelia Doyle (Dayle?) in the Old Dutch Church in Kingston Records > at Ancestry. I can add the rest of this family group if no one else does it.

NY Dutch Records

She appears to be living in 1860 (Marbletown?). Perhaps or maybe this is another Cornelia Krom?

Thanks Maggie. Have you had a chance to look for Cornelia Doyle's parents?

Maggie, you do not need to rely on Ancestry to access or cite the Kingston records. They are online at a bunch of free locations. See Space:Baptismal and Marriage Registers_of the Old Dutch Church of Kingston, Ulster County, New York.

That's great, Ellen smiley Thanks for pointing it out.

Mindy, I am just going to work on Kroms. It's a bit out of the neck of my woods so I don't feel confident tacking Cornelia Dayle/Doyle lines frown Maybe someone else can work on her branch?

speaking of Krom family, I wonder if a Dutch Colonial expert could take a peak at this upcoming merge?

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Krom-78

Thanks for pointing out that proposed merge, Maggie. smiley   I have corrected the LNAB to Crom, merged the profiles, and made some other edits.

I note that the Suggestions report shows date issues for ancestors of Loretta Krom from around 1800 in New York and back to around 1600 in Belgium.  I don't think I can help much in those dates and places.
Thanks for checking, Paul!
Cornelia Doyle is a difficult case. I have found some hints that suggest a possible father and two candidates for a mother, but not nearly enough to connect a profile yet.
Thanks, Ellen, for checking into Cornelia. I am afraid I did not get much time today to go further on Kroms. Be my guest if anyone wants to add to Kroms.

There are some sourcing mysteries in the profiles for the members of the Krom branch that I have looked at. One is the date certain of 16 Jan 1791 given in WikiTree for the marriage of Ruben Krom and Cornelia Doyle. I did not find that marriage in the church register. The only record I have seen that names Cornelia Doyle is the baptism of son Henrikus. However, I did find Ruben Krom in the 1790 census, head of a household that included two females, suggesting that he was married before 1790. Furthermore, in the 1800 census his household included a female age 10-15, suggesting to me that one of those two females in the 1790 census was a young daughter.

There are some other instances of dates certain in the WikiTree profiles that I could not confirm from online records, notably precise dates of birth for children whose baptisms were recorded without indication of the dates of birth. I have hunch that the WikiTree profiles were based in part on uncited family bible records.

I have a strong hunch that I found some family for Cornelia Doyle. I have made profiles for some of them (the ones where I have a bit of data). I have not connected any of them yet -- please look over my work and see if you think there is enough evidence to connect them.

Cornelia supposedly was born in Ulster County, New York, probably in the 1760s. A man named Charles Doyl had two children baptized in Kingston, Ulster County, New York, Rachel in 1769 and Moses in 1774, with wife Margriet Ysebrand. Following my hunch that Charles Doyl was the father of Cornelia, I looked for more records for him. I found one: Charles Doyle and wife Jane Shacklyne had daughter Eleanor in Schenectady in 1760. If this is the same Charles Doyle, then Jane was a first wife and Margaret was a second wife, and if Cornelia was their child and was born in between, then either wife could be her mother.  Additionally, there is a Charles Dale/Doyle,~1770-1812, who I think is a brother to Moses (and thus a candidate to be a brother of Cornelia).

BOUNTY: Silas Austin was born three years before his father married Ann King. He is the son of an unknown first wife. I removed Ann as his mother, although she could be added back as non-biological if desired.

Thomas should note this mistake on Ancestry as well. :-)

Do we have any way to find out more about the contents or sources used by Putman, George W. ‘’Genealogy of David Putman and His Descendants’’ (Private publication, 1916) Publication: Name: Private publication, 1916, 100 copies; copy in possession of [[MacEntee-1|Thomas MacEntee]]
I think there’s a typo in the link to John Ralph Austin above.
Should be https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Austin-518 is missing the :
I'm not participating in the challenge, but I am trying to help by working a little farther up the tree.  On the comparison tree, only the tree for the top line (Silas Austin) is expanded.  Thomas's tree is enormous, and I was wondering if it was decided to just focus on that line, or if there just wasn't an easy way to display the whole tree.

Daniel Everett and Eunice Hawes lead to PGM and Mayflower lines, so it might be cool to get to those.
Based on the information in her probate, I have updated the death date for https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/De_Wandelaer-6 and suggested a correction to her FindAGrave, which has been updated. The Putnam family genealogy has the wrong date.
@ M Cole - you can go to Thomas' Family Tree & Tools tab and scroll down. The fan chart will let you look at more generations.
@Karen Lowe - do you have an actual birth record for Silas Austin? Or just the Austin descendants book?

This is interesting:  "Aaron Hawes died the second day of January 1800 in the eight second year of his age. Seventy four years of his life he was without sight, perfectly blind. yet as far as his situation admitted a useful member of society and a great promoter of the general good."  He married at about 40 and had 3 children...I've only done basic info on him....I'll have to dig deeper see if there's anything in the town meetings.

Thomas already found Richards Father,   , interestingly the Parents of that Gustavus are said to be  and  with no source where Magdalena comes from and I might have found official documents about his Parents here: https://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&dbid=60901&h=610902398&ssrc=pt&tid=49617354&pid=13004348997&usePUB=true (still have problems citing such an Index)

Frank, Gustavus and his father Gustave are fully sources on Thomas' tree in ancestry.  Gustave's wife Magdalena Zwicker's profile is also sources on ancestry, and it says she is from Germany, born January 1864, and died 10 Feb 1937 in Queens, New York.  I hope that helps you.
I am working on Magdalena Zwicker, wife of Gustavus Otto Henneberg.  Zwicker-63

Congratulations on finding the correct parents, Frank!!
Magdalena Zwicker's profile is complete.

I found this site henneberg.weebly.com that gives a good description of family history

Wen

Wen, that's noted on the free space page.

Can someone check my research and see if I have enough information to create the parents of Anna Manch/Maunch as they are not on the ancestry tree.

The information also supplies the names of her grandparents and a very large amount of siblings for her.
I have finished my greeter shift and have not heard that I should not - so I will recheck my research and create the parents profiles if it still looks like I am on the right track.
Fidel did not show as a duplicate when I created his profile but his wife Magdalena did when I went to create her,

They are both already on Wikitree as part of a place study 4 of the children are already there too including our celebrity's ancestor. So that is also a duplicate.

I have proposed a merge.
I think I have found the name of Anna Maria Mauch maternal grandfather - Alios  Mauch and a variety of spellings for her maternal grand mother Maria Anna Bippus / Pippuson.

I do not 7nderstand German records enough to follow this up  let alone create their profiles.

So one for our German research experts there.

It appears that Anna had a sister Theresia and a brother who came to New Yor k  and California respectively.

Their very basic profiles have been created.
May have found the names of Anna Effinger's parents too Joannes Effginger and Beatrix Woelfin. Once again more expert German research skills needed to justify creating profiles for them.

That is Frances Pressner's grandmother's fathers mother's parents as well as his wife Magdalena's parents that are just names in bios not profiles.
Rosalie how is it going on this? Do you still need help and what profile(s) do you need help on?
The parents of Effinger-50

and the parents of Brodbeck-93
