Samuel seems to have picked up an extra Mildred (Thornton) Washington as a wife. One probably should be removed.

I added the following comments to Washington-235

They have different parents.

Thornton-393 managed by Frazier Brinley. B. 19 May 1739 in Saint George Par, Spotsylvania, Virginia. D. 1763 in Hanover, Virginia. ↗ Thomas Walker (1715-1794) ancestors family group sheet descendants edit ↘ Mildred (Thornton) Walker (1721-1778)

and

Thornton-1681 managed by George Bedinger. B. 1741 in St George Par, Spotsylvania, Colony of Virginia. D. 1763 in Charles Town, Jefferson, Colony of Virginia. ↗ John Thornton (1719-1779) ancestors family group sheet descendants edit ↘ Mildred (Gregory) Thornton (1718-1796)

Wikipedia claims Thornton-1681 was the right one, by virtue of the dates. This is not enough to chose Thornton-1681, though. "The Pedigree and History of the Washington Family" on page 165, states that Samuel's second wife was Mildred, daughter of Col. John Thornton. see https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=uc2.ark:/13960/t49p2x00h&view=1up&seq=243

It makes no mention of her mother.

The biography in Samuel's Find a Grave Memorial has Mildred's mother as Mildred Gregory. See

I'm sure there must be other sources that can clear this up.
