Would you like to join the Australia Project and help us to add to, and improve, Australian content on WikiTree?

The only requirement for membership in the Australia Project is that you join one of the Australia Project teams. There are a wide range of Australian topic teams, as well as state teams, and categories and profile improvement teams.

We use G2G and our Australia Project Google Group for project discussions and announcements.

You can read more about the Australia Project and our teams here.

If you would like to join the project then we would love to have you.  Please post an Answer below (not a comment) and we will contact you with more details to get you started.

Hi I would love to be able to assist / volunteer & also join the Australia Project. My main areas of interest are South Australian History & Australian Military History . I have undertaken research in the past for several RSL branches in South Australia. For the past 12 years I have been researching the Moonta Mines for the Moonta national Trust & have an interest aswell in the Wallaroo Mines.
Hi Steven, thanks for replying, I'm sending you a private message.
Thankyou Margaret
I would like to let you know my Wiki tree membership has changed from McAvaney-25 to McAvaney-125. I would still like to be a member of the South Australia team. Could please advise if there is anything I need to do. Thank you
It looks like your Australia project badge got lost when you changed WT ID numbers. I'll arrange to get that added back to your new profile, plus I'll add you back to the SA team.
That you so much. I appreciate the help. Barbara
Thank you I have been able to get back into  some work.. search the destitute  asylum  in Adelaide  during the early 1900s
I would like to join the Australia Project as most of my near relatives live in New South Wales, Australian. My great, great grandfather immigrated from from Falmouth, Massachusetts in the early 1860’s and married an Australian.
Some how those messages got mixed up. I already  am a member of the Australian group.  At the moment  I have been working on the Orphan trail. Learning.  I still want to be a member  and continue to learn each night when the group emails come through.  I am in South Australia.  Barb

Hi all,

I'd like to join the Australia Project if you'll have me. smiley While I have no family roots here, I've been steadily working on connecting the people who've shaped the history of the Northern Territory (where I've lived for the past 18 years).  So, I'd be interested in joining the Territories team and helping out with building the related place name and cemetery categories.

Thanks and kind regards,

Vicky Majewski

Hello, yes I would like to join the Australian Project.  I have been actively researching my family for the past 2 years only and I have a number of brick walls and data gaps.  I particularly am interested in information about occupations for my my earlier ancestors many of whom were convicts and others pastoralists.  I'm trying to find the historical context for my family's history.

I'd like to join. I do plenty of work on Australian profiles, might as well make it official.

You should put me in the Western Australian project team, same reason

Hi,

I'd certainly be interested in joining this group.

My Australian ancestry is almost exclusively in South Australia with my most distant family arriving in the mid-1840s.

I have been researching on-and-off since this mid/late 80s.

Hope we can help each other.

regards

Graham

Hi :) I was previously a member of the Australia Project, but had to step back for a while because of health reasons. I am hoping that I will be able to join again now and take part in the spring clean-a-thon too, thanks!

I would love to join the Australia project in 2021. I have ancestors from England(mainly Cornwall, Devon & Somerset)  & from Germany/Prussia.  I would like to join the Prussian settlement in Australia team - my ancestors were from 2 families (Huckel, who arrived on the Pauline in 1849, & Lindner, who arrived on Herder in 1851.

The Eureka Stockade team is looking for assistance. We have identified lots of participants in the Rebellion - see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Eureka_Rebellion and are working to add profiles (and then to connect them). For example here is a list of people who mention participating in the Stockade at the time of their obituary https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Eureka_rebellion_obituaries , a list of those arrested is being compiled https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Eureka_arrests , soldiers in the 12th regiment https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Eureka_12th_Regiment_of_Foot and the 40th https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Eureka_40th_Regiment_of_Foot . I need to work on a list of police ...

Hi there - I am interested in joining the Australia Project. My family has been in South Australia since 1838, and in New South Wales since 1828. I have been working on the South Australian branch of the family, and have become familiar with a number of South Australian resources, but would like to get a better understanding of accessing resources in other states and improving the quality of the profiles for the NSW Branch of the family. I am very attracted to the shared nature of Wikitree - I like the idea that my contributions are not going to be lost - and would be keen to make a broader contribution if possible.

Hiya

I guess I should be part of this project, as a huge chunk of my ancestors to be added to WikiTree are Australian based.  And for brownie points, I adopted a group of profiles (descendants of an ancestor in Williamstown) and sourced them yesterday.  :-)
