I am adopted, Howard is my adopted name.  I'm currently researching Jersey - Channel Islands ancestors.  I am in a GED match project for Jersey - Channel Islands and have quite a few matches there.  I was reading about de la Tacq family in St. Ouen on this site.  Some of the names in my "working" tree match up with people in the dna project with some of the same last names I have found on Ancestry trees connecting to mine (Rossignal, deCarteret).  Is it safe to assume I am on the right track based upon this information?  My Channel Island ancestor is 8 generations back.  It seems like a stretch, but I am hopeful this dna link makes the connection more likely.

Hi Kim, and welcome to WikiTree.  Thank you for introducing yourself to us in our g2g forum. I would like to suggest that you upgrade to a family membership.  It is 100% free.  After you do that, you would be able to add tags to your profile. Tags can be names and or locations relating to your ancestors.  Once you have added them, you would immediately be connected to other members of WikiTree who are researching those same names and locations. You might find that you are related to someone already on WikiTree.
