For decades my enigmatic great-grandfather seemed to have just spontaneously been created. He has claimed a birthplace of Ireland once, and Illinois in all of the US Census records. He has been consistent in having NO knowledge of where his parents were born. My Morris Cook (Cook-35795) was born March 3, 1849 and died April 2, 1908. I believe I have found him in the 1860 Census record for Mercer County, Missouri. My dna has matched up with descendants of three different sibilings of his (as determined by the children named on the above 1860 census). By this evidence alone, his father should be Morris Cook who was born in Ireland. HIs mother's maiden name is borrowed from a "cousin's" research on Ancestry. Morris Sr. was born in 1820 in Ireland, and probably immigrated around 1847/48. I am most interested in confirming the relationship between Morris Jr. and Sr, and extending the Cook lineage into Ireland.
