Did Emily Grocock go to Canada and marry George Wellington MacFarlane [closed]

Hello, I'm researching my mother's Grocock relatives, specifically:

[[Grocock-137|Emily Grocock]] was born in Boston, Lincolnshire on 13 December 1889. She apparently died in Powell River, British Columbia, Canada having married George Wellington MacFarlane:

"British Columbia Death Registrations, 1872-1986; 1992-1993", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FLBV-17Y : 8 November 2017), Emily Macfarlane, 1973.

On the death registration the year of birth / place of birth / father's name /mother's name match Emily exactly, but I don't have access to Canadian records on my ancestry account. Could anyone help me find a reference to her marriage and/ or emigration to Canada?

I have access to an institutional version of Ancestry through by public library, which includes Canada.

I did a search for a marriage for Emily Grocock and George MacFarlane, as well as as for George MacFarlane and Emily Grocock. No luck either way.

I searched immigration records for Emily Grocock arrivals in Canada, and only found one Emily, but much too early to be yours.

Sorry I could not be more helpful.

Thank you very much for searching George smiley

Yes, this could be him if he married again after the death of his first wife in 1960. You're right, there could be 2 George Wellington MacFarlane though

Here is her death record from bc. Not sure if family search had the image. http://search-collections.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/Image/Genealogy/0f8d6a2a-37e7-401b-81a6-d91f87164fd8

This is great! Thank you Kayla. It proves that Emily emigrated to Canada 35 years before her death in 1938... I was beginning to think that the information on the family search site was wrong!

Here is a death record of a George Macfarlane widower, passed away in Powell River in 1982. But his wife is listed as Edith http://search-collections.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/Image/Genealogy/21dafcfc-233d-4b4e-bbc5-475445599d9a

Very interesting. The information for the death cert. is given by the son. Either this is a different man or Emily and George Wellington MacFarlane didn't officially marry and Emily wasn't recognised by the children.

I am happy to record her emigration and death in Canada an leave the marriage as a mystery smiley

Thank you for your help.

George MacFarlane married Edith Maple in Washington State in 1926.  https://www.ancestry.ca/sharing/21754762?h=52cefa&o_xid=61785&o_lid=61785&o_sch=Email+Programs

According to a headstone on FindaGrave, Edith died in 1960 and is buried in Powell River.

If he and Emily married, it must have been after 1960.
