Please note that Denmark and The Netherlands always were and still are distinct countries. So reference to Dutch immigrants in this case is erroneous and should be replaced by Danish immigrants. Thank you!

Yes, a careless mistake, and thanks for catching it.
And I removed the tag new_netherland from this post. Some of the immigrant settlers in New Netherland were in fact Danish, but New Netherland was on the eastern seaboard, not in Michigan, and it existed in the 1600s, not the 1800s.
