Merging empty profiles

This is a follow up on a question posed by Steven Wilson, rookie, two days ago, about a Sarah Register.  He found 6
empty profiles with only a name, Sarah Register-437, 38, 39, 40, 41, and 42.  I found a John Register-436 who had a sister Sarah Register-445 and is fully profiled and has an active manager.  Should all of the empty profiles and Register-445 be merged with (empty) Register-437?  Guidance requested.

Hi Beulah,

I would think so. Register-437 to 442 were created on the same day by the same member. Register-445 was created only three days later, still by the same member. So it seems all those Sarah Registers were meant to represent the same person all along and something went wrong. And yes, they should all go into Register-437 and it should eventually hold all the data that Register-445 has.

(edited because lots of typos).
Perhaps someone should have a chat with that member
After Isabelle pointed that out I sent him an e-mail.  He has thousands of contributions, right up to a couple of days ago.   It is evident he is not an uninterested and abandoning type of manager.  I feel it must have been some kind of bug that
produced all of those empty profiles.
Thank you, Beulah! I also believe it was something like this.
I agree, Beulah. He might know how the situation came to be and would want to merge it himself
That was one of my suggestions or I gave him the option of I would do the requests and then remove myself from any managership.
It would seem it was me. . . .Thank you for pointing this out - I didn't have any idea! I have now merged all these profiles into one - Register-437. Please let me know if I've missed anything.
Great!  Just what I hoped would happen and felt sure would
if you were aware of it.  All's well in my world this morning.
A couple of glitches in this vein happened to me back in 2017 when I was correcting LNABs for profiles - I got kicked off as manager of the original and was left with a half-made profile that I sometimes didn't notice. Not saying there was a change of LNAB involved in the current case - it might just as well happen upon creation if the system has a bad moment. Fortunately events like these are very rare.

I checked her FamilySearch profile. Since she was born about 2 years after her parents were married, then there is no chance that she had any younger siblings named Sarah. The other profiles have been abandoned as orphans. Go ahead and merge them.

All have been merged.  Case closed.
