Locked, pre-1500 profile with multiple errors

Regarding Alcancotes-8:  as Stephanie Ward has already pointed out in a comment on this profile, this man was apparently born in 1190, more than 50 years after his father's death (1136). While the line of descent may well be genuine, it would appear that at least one generation has been omitted in-between.

Also, the full name has been severely mangled. I believe the surname should be "le Parker" a.k.a. ''de Alancotes". (And "Lee" is definitely incorrect, either as a preposition or middle name.)

Finally, as per "Help:Name Fields", surname prepositions (like le and de) should not be capitalised, and should appear in the Current Last Name field (i.e. not in Last Name at Birth and not "De", "Le" etc.)

Regarding the correct surname of Alancoates-8, under the  prevailing style at Wikitree I believe it should be "Parker a.k.a. le Parker, de Alcancoates". That is, his full formal surname at the time was "le Parker de Alcancoates" (i.e. it followed the style of the Norman/French aristocracy, so that the last word is a geographical affix).

His father's surname was le Parcar/le Parquier and the family eventually dropped "de Alcancoates" and "le", to become simply Parker.

The profile needs proper sources which would help sort it out.

Yes Marion, but the profile is locked, so no amount of sources is meaningful at present.
You can attach sources to a comment on the bottom of the profile for the profile manager to see. I am sure it will be appreciated.
So why is it locked? Because it is in error?  Then the errors should be corrected if there is data to correct them.  This is strange.
I think G means locked to non pre-1500 accredited members.
Ah. I see.

indecision

Lois, I thought I belonged to all the relevant projects or whatever. I don't know what tags you're talking about. Or why that would be relevant here.

I was at my desktop when I Googled the relevant details. It's now 11 pm where I am. I will be happy to repeat my Google Search tomorrow  – since no one with an actual interest in this man  apparently can be bothered to do it.

The correct name is Alkincoats

There were real persons of this name, and they came from a real place in Colne, Lancashire   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alkincoats_Hall

The Parker family is real and connected to this place:  https://www.thornber.net/famhist/htmlfiles/parker.html
G - the tags are the tags on your G2g question, which, were you to add them, would be sent to the England Project team that deals with pre-1500 profiles from England and could correct the errors in this one.

For instance, at the moment you have

Thank you Ros.

Lois, feel free to fix the profile then.
Gracious of you
