Biography

Birth and Parents

Stephen Adams was born in New Hampshire.

Stephen, the third of nine children of Deacon Ephraim Adams Sr. and Betty Pierce was born on 7 February 1782 at Stoddard, New Hampshire.^[1]

Marriage

Stephen married Becca Whitcomb (1782-1858) the daughter of Josiah and Mercy (Blood) Whitcomb on 16 July 1808 at Stoddard, New Hampshire.^[2]There were no children from this union.

Death and Burial

Stephen Adams died on 3 July 1844 in his year at Stoddard.^[3]He is buried in Dow Hill Cemetery at Stoddard, Cheshire, New Hampshire.^[4]

Research Notes

• Betsy (Pierce) Adams (1751-1804) mother to Stephen and all of his siblings was said to be a 1st cousin of Benjamin Pierce, the father of President Franklin Pierce
