Biography

Private Elisha Adams served with 1st New Hampshire Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Elisha Adams is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A000472.

Elisha was born in 1765, in Framingham, Massachusetts. He was the son of Joseph Adams and Prudence Pratt, who later settled in Dublin, New Hampshire.^[1]

Elisha married Comfort Twitchell on September 22, 1782.^[1] They had the following children (all born in Dublin, New Hampshire):^[2][3]

• Polly, b. Feb 23 1789, married ______ Joslin, who had earlier married her sister, Hannah

It is said that his first wife, Comfort, "became insane".^[3]

He removed to Temple, Maine, in about 1801. In about the same year (judging from children's birthdates), he married Lucinda Addley. They had several children (all born in Temple, Maine):^[2]

Elisha died on March 31, 1827. He is buried in Red Schoolhouse Cemetery in Franklin county, Maine.^[4]
