  1. 20230214 - Edit by McAdoo-199 SoCol Proj in reaction to DataDR flag of incorrect parameter in NSSAR External Link/Sticker Template: Cause of DaraDR flag: the DAR number incorrectly applied with SAR template. Corrective action: 1) Corrected NSSAR Patriot number from A000241 to P-100284. 2) added patriotic service description to rank NSSAR DAR stated "Provided brandy and oats". 3) Added DAR external link/sticker template with correct ancestor number A000241. 4) Added additional source info re annotated christening below, 5) removed middle initial "B" see note below.
    1. Note: Alternative date and place of birth cited in NS DAR record: Birth: 1723 at Prince George County, Virginia. Unknown source. Not Henrico County.
    2. Note: Alternative date and place of birth cited in NS SAR record: Birth: 21 May 1723 at Prince George County, Maryland. Unknown source. Not Henrico County, Virginia.
    3. Note: Both SAR and DAR records agree and attach suffix Sr.
    4. Note: Neither NS SAR or NA DAR include middle initial "B" or any other middle name or middle initial. Neither does the christening source.
    5. Note: Seems possible but unlikely that profile top date of death would be the same date as the witnessed date of the sourced Last Will and Testament signature.
    6. Note: Added likely burial cemetery location as suggested by NAR SAR record to additional source info.
    7. REMOVE these research notes above when confirmed.

John Abernathy is my 7th and 8th Great Grandfather, he was also my first DAR Patriot, which means my line was investigated extensively before I could be a member. My Grandmother's family history was kept and research extensively and handed down from generation to generation. Brunswick County Virginia County Courthouse was left intact and all records were saved which helped us tremendously with the research. My aunt traveled to Scotland and did extensive research there as well.

Per research John and Mildred were married about 1743

Was the One Name Study Abernathy template deleted by accident or on purpose?

There are two Johns attached as sons now, both supposedly born in 1747. John Abernathy is a common name so we need better sources to determine which if any of them actually reflect the John Abernathy who was the son of this John and is named in his will. Need to be careful with the merges to avoid conflating different people, but can anyone help with reliable sources to sort this out?
