I have researched a number of my Civil War ancestors. My family was from Danville, VA. A member of Ancestry for almost 24 continuous years. Wanting to put my research on WikiTree.

I have a huge tree with over 435,000+ records.

Thanks,

by Stanley Cooper G2G1 (1.0k points)
Hi Stanley, wow your relative was really young was he a drummer boy?   You need 100 contributions to receive the US Civil War Project Badge and your a bit behind that amount.  You can still develop your relatives profile and if you need help adding stickers and categories let us know and someone will help you.

I would love to join this project again! I was a member several years ago and dropped out due to lack of time to participate. Now that I have some time again I'd like to rejoin. My 1st cousin 4x removed Alexander Cragle served in the 143 PA Infantry.

I have the book Gone but not forgotten: Civil War veterans of Northeastern Pennsylvania so I'm creating profiles for those veterans (if they don't have one), such as Josiah Tubbs and his 3 brothers.

Hello,

I don't know if we eliminate members who become inactive for a period of time.  Pam will be along soon to clarify that. She is the leader of the Civil War Project.

You might want to review Civil War Project Page just to refresh your memory about the stickers and categories.

Welcome back.

Hi Star, welcome back to the Project, we're always glad to have members return to the Project.  Are you planning to create a space page for the Soldier's your working on?  If you do let me know and I'll include it on the Main Project Page under Space Pages.  laugh

Having been doing research on the 50 men buried in High Point inConfederate section of the Oakwood Cemetery I would be interested to provided information on these men so other family ancesters can find them.

Plus I have ancesters that fought in this war.

how can this info be updated to this site?

Philip Martin
by Philip Martin G2G Crew (900 points)
Hi Philip, you could create a space page for the 50 men your researching.  On the top right of your profile page, you'll see "Add" if you click that a list will appear, pick "New Free Space" then you can create a cemetery page for Oakwood Cemetery.  If you do this let me or Norman know and we can add categories to the page.  Plus, I'll add the space page to the Project Page under space pages.  Thank you for your research.
Philip,

If you need any assistance with the Civil War sticker or the categories, please feel free to ask.  I am also available if you need a hand in setting up your space page or researching the soldiers.

I have been working on Confederate from my Southern Roots and Union Profiles from my Midwestern families. I grew up with Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield in walking distance where my Indiana relatives fought the local families I went to school with.

I have composed several profiles I found to be present at the Appomattox surrender (on both sides). Having visited the site and heard a presentation on the actual ground there it makes me want to add that distinction to profiles I can source.
