Biography

Increase Ward resided in the part of Marlborough which is now Northboro. Their farm was on the river, and Increase had a sawmill. They had a family of children which resided in Northboro and Westboro.

"Increase Ward, born January 22, 1645, in Sudbury, Mass., died August 25, 1690, in Marlborough, Mass. He married October 3, 1672, in Medfield, Mass., Record Wheelock, born December 15, 1644, died July 26, 1726, daughter of Ralph and Rebecca Wheelock.
"They resided in that section of Marlborough which became West- borough in 1717, and in that part of it which was later set off as Northborough. His farm was by the river. It included the twenty-four acres of Abraham Williams's house-lot, purchased from Williams by William Ward. He operated a sawmill near the spot where later there were cotton factories.
"He was town clerk in 1689, and probably earlier. His tombstone is the oldest of the Ward stones preserved in Spring Hill Cemetery.
"Children, all born in Marlborough except Increase, who was born in Medfield, Mass:
76. Increase, born October 15, 1673.
77. Tabitha, born May (or April) 16, 1675.
78. Record, born June (or January) 28, 1677.
79. Rebecca, born November 15, 1678, died July 8, 1698, in Marlborough, Mass. Unmarried.
80. Eleazer, born August 12, 1680 (or 1681), died September 8, 1708, in Marlborough, Mass. Unmarried.
81. Thomas, born 1684, died August 1747 in Plainfield, Conn. In 1710 ninety-three acres of land were laid out to him and his brother Oliver on Wealy Hill, near Cold Harbor, in that part of Marlborough which became Westborough, then Northborough. His will directed the distribution of his estate among the most needy and deserving of his relatives. Unmarried.

Ward-5327 and Ward-120 do not represent the same person because: I am not convinced that these are the same people: no parents for one, different dates for birth and death. There were many Wards in this area.
