Increase was born 15 October 1673 in Medfield, Massachusetts. He was the son of Increase Ward and Record Wheelock. ^[1]

Increase married Ruth Fay Morse, the widow of Joseph Morse, 28 June 1706 in Marlborough. Increase and Ruth had the following children (all but Jerusha born in Marlborough:
