- Peter Telford was born in 1844 in Port Gawler (today merely the mouth of the Gawler River about 25km west of Gawler and administered by the District Council of Malalla) to Jane Sinton and James Telfer.
- Married Sarah Jane Baker on 29 July 1869 in Glenburnie (today an eastern suburb of Mt Gambier), South Australia.[1]
- Died on 5 July 1916 in Mount Gambier, South Australia.[2]
- Buried 6 July Lake Terrace Cem. Section E plot 790
