Biography

James Telfer was born in 1808 in Jedburgh, Roxborough, Scotland, United Kingdom, son of James Telfer (~1778–1827) and Margaret Hill (~1778–1842).J ames, son of James Telfer & Margaret Hill, was baptised on 8 October 1809 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, Scotland.[1]

James (27) married Jane Sinton (24) (born on May 20, 1812 in Southdean, Roxburgh, Scotland) on November 18, 1836 in Southdean, Roxburgh[2]. Their children were:

He and his wife, Jane, migrated from Scotland to the "tent city" of Adelaide in South Australia in February 1839 aboard the 'Platina'[3].

James died on November 10, 1884 in Glenburnie, Colony of South Australia, aged 75. James was buried in Lake Terrace Cemetery, Mount Gambier, Mount Gambier City, South Australia, Australia[4].
