Research Notes

Incorrect merge was done with George Smith profile causing conflation. Two couples with same wife names and similar children names, although not same years for marriage or children's births. Children births were in England vs Scotland.

Sources removed that were for other George marriage with Jean / Jane Runciman who married 1849, not 1844. This George Smith was living in England, as noted at time of marriage.

As a consequence of the merge the profile for this George ceased to exist & a new profile was recreated which, although there is no family connection, for clarity & comparison can be viewed here.

George’s death info is unchanged from the original Yorkshire detail of the ‘other George’. Unless I hear to the contrary I’m happy to make the appropriate change to death details which I traced on Scotlands People (1891 in Coldingham). I will show the source ref.

NOT a match. Yes, wives have the same names but they married at different times. Yes, children have similar names and ages, but one set lived Scotland, the other England.

Smith-50622 and Smith-22145 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicates, same names, same marriage, children match
