Elizabeth Sinclair was born on 29 Oct 1811, and christened on 27 Nov 1811 at St Peter's Church in Liverpool, Lancashire. She was the daughter of John Sinclair and Elizabeth (Dagnia) Sinclair. Her father's occupation was recorded as mariner, and the family's address as Kent Sq. [1]

Elizabeth married Thomas Robinson on 15 Sep 1836 at St John The Baptist Church in Toxteth, Lancashire, by license. Elizabeth was a spinster of Toxteth Park in the parish of Walton on the Hill; Thomas was a grocer of the parish of Liverpool. Both were of full age (21 or more). The witnesses were R. Robinson, John Sinclair and Christina Sinclair. [2] [3]

Their son Sinclair was christened on 6 Sep 1837 at St Helens Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. His father's occupation was given as Agent, and the family's address as St Helens.

Their son Arthur was christened on 14 Aug 1839 at St Helens Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. His father's occupation was given as Agent, and the family's address as St Helens.

Their daughter Mary was born on 6 Mar 1841, and christened on 14 Apr 1841 at St Thomas' Church in Eccleston, in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was given as Coal Proprietor, and the family's address as Eccleston.

By June 6th 1841, the family were living in Crescent House, Eccleston. Thomas' occupation was given as lime burner. There were three children - Sinclair (3), Arthur (2) and Mary (3 months old). Catherine Sinclair, a spinster aged 20-24, was in the household - probably a sister of Elizabeth. There were three female servants also in the household - Martha Johnson, Elizabeth Harrison and Jane Marsh. [4]

Their son Charles Greenall was born on 3 Jan 1843, and christened on 24 May 1843 at St Thomas' Church in Eccleston, in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. His father's occupation was given as Gentleman, and the family's address as Eccleston.

Their son George was born on 16 Jan 1845, and christened on 22 Mar 1845 at St Thomas' Church in Eccleston, in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. His father's occupation was given as Gentleman, and the family's address as Eccleston.

Thomas Robinson, lime-burner of Eccleston, Lancashire was going through bankruptcy proceedings by March 1845.[5]

Thomas and Elizabeth's daughter Selina was christened on 1 Jan 1847 at St Peter's Church in Liverpool. Her father's occupation was given as Gentleman, and the family's address as Myrtle Street.

Thomas and Elizabeth's son George died in 1849, and was buried on 19 Sep 1849 at St Helens Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. His age was recorded as 4, and his address as St Helens. [6]

Thomas died before the 1851 census.

By March 30th 1851, Elizabeth was a widowed annuitant living in West Derby, Lancashire with her children Charles, Sinclair, Arthur and Selina, and a house servant, Ann Magee. [7]

By April 7th 1861, Elizabeth was a widowed annuitant living in Bridson Street, Liverpool with her children Charles and Selina, and a house servant, Ann McDonald. [8]

By April 2nd 1871, Elizabeth was living in Toxteth Park, Lancashire with her son Charles and a domestic servant, Eliza Furlong. Charles was an annuitant. [9]

By April 3rd 1881, Elizabeth was living with her sister Catharine in Toxteth Park, Lancashire; they had two servants. [10]
