Elizabeth Sinclair was born on 29 Oct 1811, and christened on 27 Nov 1811 at St Peter's Church in Liverpool, Lancashire. She was the daughter of John Sinclair and Elizabeth (Dagnia) Sinclair. Her father's occupation was recorded as mariner, and the family's address as Kent Sq. [1]

Their son Sinclair was christened on 6 Sep 1837 at St Helens Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. His father's occupation was given as Agent, and the family's address as St Helens.
Their son Arthur was christened on 14 Aug 1839 at St Helens Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. His father's occupation was given as Agent, and the family's address as St Helens.

By March 30th 1851, Elizabeth was a widowed annuitant living in West Derby, Lancashire with her children Charles, Sinclair, Arthur and Selina, and a house servant, Ann Magee. [7]
By April 7th 1861, Elizabeth was a widowed annuitant living in Bridson Street, Liverpool with her children Charles and Selina, and a house servant, Ann McDonald. [8]
By April 2nd 1871, Elizabeth was living in Toxteth Park, Lancashire with her son Charles and a domestic servant, Eliza Furlong. Charles was an annuitant. [9]
By April 3rd 1881, Elizabeth was living with her sister Catharine in Toxteth Park, Lancashire; they had two servants. [10]
