Elisabeth Runsiman was baptized on 24 Dec 1722[1] in Dunbar Parish, her father is recorded as Alexander Runsiman, hind in "Mikle pinkerton" (sic). Witnesses were James Waudrop and Ja. Kirkwood. Hind was a permanent farm worker, often ploughman, who was paid and provided with a cottage on the farm property. (See Janet's profile for more information). Meikle Pinkerton (NGR NT 70279 75685), was a small hamlet (fermtoun) in Dunbar Parish, about 3 miles south of Dunbar.
