Identification is uncertain. There were many John Robertsons! This one appears to have lived in the Borders area, near Berwick-upon-Tweed.

A child was shown in the 1841 UK census at Eyemouth, Berwickshire, as "John Robertson other name Clazie", about 2 months old. The child lived with his mother, Margaret Clazie, age 21. The census says the child was born in England, which probably means at Berwick-upon-Tweed or in Northumberland.

Who was the child's father? Coincidentally, the same census also showed a man named John Robertson, age 20, lived at Eyemouth with his father, Adam Robertson, a spirit dealer. But was THIS John Robertson the father of Margaret Clazie's child, also named John Robertson? The evidence is suggestive but not conclusive.

Did this particular John Robertson stay in Scotland, or move elsewhere? Unknown. When and where did he die? Unknown.
