Biography
Orpha was born in 1861. She was the daughter of William Ralph and Emmarillus Ellis [1]. She married her husband Albert Sidney Ralph sometime between 1888 and 1893. Vital record index card has marriage listed as "ante 1893". The 1900 census the couple reports they have been married 12 years placing their marriage at 1888. Also, their 1st child was born in 1888 [2]. Orpha Ralph and her husband Albert S. Ralph are 4th cousins. They share the same great grandparents on their father's side (William Ralph and Mary English).
Orpha and Albert had 6 children (Harry Longstreet, James Samuel, Sidney Branch, Kathryne, Adda and Edwin Branch). Two of Orpha's children died 9 days apart in 1903 from diphtheria (Sidney and Adda). Orpha passed away in 1923 at the age of 61 [3]. She is buried in Saint Marks Episcopal Church Cemetery in Laurel, Delaware with many other members of the Ralph family [4].
