Research notes
Was Thomas from Walthamstow or Suffolk?
1841 census states born Essex
subsequent census that really do look to be the same chap, remarried, show Long Melford, Suffolk
Suffolk wins in my book given the family of Daniel and Margaret appear to have moved from Long Melford to Saffron Walden by the time son Charles was born.
Ford appears to be based on a marriage (12 Jun 1809, Hackney) of a Joseph Pledger and Susanna Ford, both of this parish and single.
Both X their mark. Witnessed by Jamima Ford and Henry Baker.
Not too far from Walthamstow, so not impossible.
Just fits with date of baptism for first known son James.
BUT 1841 census shows Susan as born Essex, so why not married there?
And who were James and Elizabeth Young with the family in 1841?
Young seems a significant name when you look at son Henry's children's names.
They are of an age to be Susan's parents.
How on earth do this family connect to William Clinton or Jemima Parker where we have a solid set of DNA matches between descendants who share William/Jemima and descendants of Thomas & Susan's sons James, William and Peter
working assumption is that if Susan is from Essex and Thomas from Suffolk, it seems more likely the connection is on Jemima's side Henderson-2297
