Margaret was born on 26 Jun 1847.
In 1936, during the centenary year of the founding of the Colony of South Australia, Mount Barker opened the Pioneer Women's Memorial Avenue which was lined by trees with the names of pioneer women on plaques, including Margaret.
Margaret died on 21 April 1925. Margaret was buried in Payneham, Norwood Payneham St Peters City, South Australia, Australia.
On Wednesday the death occurred of Mrs James Trego-Williams, of the Parade Norward. The deceased lady was the eldest daughter of the late Mr Alexander Malcolm, well known in business circles in the early days of the state.
She married Mr James Trego-Williams who for many years was on the staff of the National Bank of Australia, and predeceased her.
She was highly esteemed by all who knew her, and greatly beloved by a large circle of relatives and friends, who mourn their loss. She leaves a family, one son in Queensland (Mr Alwyn Williams), one daughter (Mrs Barratt, Melbourne) and two other daughters - Misses Mary and Lily Williams. There are also two grandsons, and a granddaughter.
Her eldest brother, Mr William Malcolm, who was for many years identified with Messers. W. Duffield and Co., millers, at Gawler, died some years ago, and her youngest brother (Mr James Malcolm), well known at Wallaroo, died very suddenly last year.
One sister, Mrs W. Creasy-Harris, of North Croydon, survives her.
